Assigning keys to other keys.

Post by Dorian (MJT support) » Wed Apr 07, 2021 10:17 am

Three or four years ago I had a keyboard with a Menu key on it. Think of it as a "right-click button". I don't like repeatedly having to use my mouse for right-click when I could so easily "press right-click" then choose a shortcut key.

The trouble is, most keyboards don't have that button.

Enter Macro Scheduler :

Code: Select all

Press MenuKey
With this one-liner mapped to INSERT as a hotkey (I don't think I've used insert for about 25 years), I have my menu button back.

I have a similar script for when I want to type \. It's cumbersome on this keyboard. But send>\ is mapped to another seldom used key.

These little "micro scripts" make things that tiny bit easier, don't they?!
Yes, we have a Custom Scripting Service. Message me or go here
