Will there be an update for the Portable Installer so it will work with v13?

I package mine manually so it's portable. Allows me to have multiple versions without having to change scripts etc. Eg stuff I created in v11 and I make a change I don't need to update the script due to the dialog change. Would be happy to do it for you guys if your interested.

Yes. I too would like to be able to make version 14 portable. The image recognition wizard is killer - would be nice to have that in a portable version. Is there a way to do it manually?

Hi Brian,

You can do it with VMWwares ThinApp. I have been making MS portable for a while as I love being able to take it with me wherever I go. Eg Home, Work, Clients. Means I can script on the go.

CyberCitizen,

What steps do you go trough before you do the postscan? I end up having some loose ends when trying to use it at a different computer (with no MacroScheaduler on it). This resulting in a none working portable app...

First I install to C:\MacroScheduler.v14.0.7\

Second I go into the settings & change the macro path to C:\MacroScheduler.v14.0.7\Scripts\

I place all my scripts in here.
I then place all my samples in
C:\MacroScheduler.v14.0.7\Samples

Then edit the groups.ini to point to these new locations, build & run.

Works on XP though to Server including VM's.

VMWwares ThinApp is shareware right, I havent use it before,
what about using freeware to made a portable version of Macro Scheduler?

It seem the most important part to made Macro Scheduler portable is license key which is in registry, havent fully created one yet.

But just a simple suggestion method, you could use Enigma Virtual Box, which is freeware, it can virtualized registry, or even a full folder, but setting like registry have to manually added into its setting first.

Could I request an older version of macro scheduler such as v12, since I notice Marcus create a tool to made v12 MS portable, and I would like to tryout? :?:

Thanks

You could check out http://www.cameyo.com/

Its freeware. I have used it a couple of times, however prefer VMWare ThinApp. Otherwise I can compile your version for you in VMWare ThinApp.

Thanks for the offer, I'll take up the offer if the need arises. :D
