Task Manager question

Post by surferdude » Sat Feb 28, 2004 11:03 pm

Hi!

Does anyone know how to either get the Task Manager (Taskmgr.exe) to open up with the performance tab on top, or to bring the performance tab to the top after TM is open? There doesn't appear to be a key combination to do this.

TIA

Run Program>Taskmgr.exe
WaitWindowOpen>Windows Task Manager
SetFocus>Windows Task Manager
Press Shift
Press Tab
Release Shift
Press Right
Press Right

Google for Taskmgr switches !

You may want to hit left a few times before doing right twice.
that way if it comes up already on the performance tab, it does not move to the right twice and take you off the performance tab.

Hmm, I hadn't seen the need for that. Works fine for me as posted. Performance is the last tab (of three) on my TM (w2k), so it doesn't matter where you start, right right gets you there. What tabs/OS do you have?

My Windows XP Home Edition has the following TABS.

Applications | Processes | Performance | Networking | Users

Also, TM remembers which TAB you were on last. Therefore, you may want to perform at least 4 Left Arrows before moving right three.
