Hi All,
I'm trying to set up a very simple sheduled task on a windows 2003 server. I can't use the windows task scheduler as it has been disabled by network staff as a security risk.
I'm using Macro Scheduler (10.1.15) and have it set to "Keep Scheduling on Exit". I can see that the macro scheduler service is installed and set to automatic, however, if I log off of the server desktop, the service doesn't start?
(NOTE: this is the first time I have tried using macro scheduler as a service, before I have always just left the desktop logged in but I'm being asked not to do that now)
I can view the running services in the MMC while not logged into the desktop and it is not running. I can manually start the service, and then it will kick off one of my scripts one time. It is scheduled to run every 2 minutes but it only runs one time?
I believe I am doing everything correctly with regard to scheduling this macro but it just isn't working. Does anyone have any suggestions? Am I misunderstanding how the service works or maybe the service is not able to execute macros on a schedule? Thanks for your help.

Is Macro Scheduler running under administrative privileges in order that it can start the service?

Did you know we are now offering affordable monthly subscriptions for Macro Scheduler Standard?

Ok, I am not sure why, but I had changed the TIME of when to have one of my macros run and it just started working?? I had it previously set to run at 2:20pm and to repeat every 2 minutes and it ran once. I knew this because I had logging enabled plus the script does nothing more than write a timestamp to a text file.
I just changed the time to start to a few minutes into the future and saved my changes, and it just started working, firing every two minutes! Anyway, I can't explain why that made a difference but I'm just glad it is working. Oh and it had been more than 24 hours since I started the macro scheduler service so I know the last time to start (2:20pm) had come and gone at least once without any action.
Anyway, it is working now, thanks for your help.
