Portable install pegs CPU

I have a copy of the Portable Install and have noticed when running on another machine, the CPU usage stays pegged at 100%.

-Nothing else is running
-MS portable is running but not executing any scripts

If I shut MS down, usage = 0 - 3 %
Start MS up again, usage = 100% with MS at ~99%

I can run other apps (manually or using MS) and there is minimal impact. (My machine does not feel like a slug.)

Machine = Virtual XP image on Win7, 1500MB

Known issue? (I searched and didn't find anything)

Hey there. Same issue here.

Win7 SP1

Macro Scheduler Portable 11.1.17

I do have macros scheduled for certain times.. not sure if that is worth noting. Sits at 93-99% CPU usage even when nothing is scheduled..

Running on a laptop so quite annoying since it makes my fan crank on, even though nothing is happening..

This shows up on Win XP and Win7 (ie; different machines).

I had to wait a few days to try this, have been pretty busy. I'll also repeat what Jerry said - I have the same issue with the same install on XP as well as Win7.

I went to try the reinstall, but hit a snag. As you know its portable, so its not installed. So I take it you mean to install MSched and then run the portable installer again to create a "fresh build of msched portable" shall we say.

The hitch? I am using MSched 11.1.17 as stated above. I went to http://www.mjtnet.com/blog/2009/03/19/c ... tall-beta/ and downloaded the portable creator again, and despite the page saying it only requires MSched 11 or higher to be installed, once I try to run it, it says it cant detect MSched 12 installed.

Kind of frustrating - I have no idea where the original msched portable installer that worked with 11 is/if I have it anywhere. I'm guessing Marcus removed the compatibility with MSched 11 to motivate people to upgrade??

I'm looking to upgrade sometime soon regardless but I'd rather not have to do it for this reason! Also, it'd be reassuring to know that this issue isnt present in MSched Portable 12 before I did as well.

Any other ideas??

I checked process explorer and its the msched_portable.exe that is hogging the CPU, not the msched.exe process.

Has anyone tried the V13 Portable?
Does it have this same problem?
