Moving from app to app

Im tyrying to copy and paste some data from one program to another...ex from excel to word...but I cant seem to figure out a away to setfocus on the other program once I have copied the data from the first program...the setfocus function seems to only work within the same program that already has the focus...I also tried using Alt-tab...which seems to work in some cases but not in others....what am I missing...No mouse commands are allowed

It's tough to identify the reason for that - without your code

Both apps are open ...

SetFocus>Document1 - Microsoft*
Press CTRL
Send>AC
Release CTRL

SetFocus>Microsoft Excel - Book1
Press CTRL
Send>V
Release CTRL
