Turn on after stand by?

Post by Dj Telo » Sun Aug 08, 2010 8:00 pm

Hello everyone,

I would want to know if it is possible for a macro to turn on the computer if it is in stand by.

Of course, by "stand by" I mean that the computer has been turned off by hitting the yellow button:

Thank you so much.

I don't believe so. While in standby the CPU is basically "sleeping", and there is only enough electricity going to the motherboard to keep the contents of the RAM refreshed and active.

Some BIOS versions allow the computer to be turned on or wake from standby based upon a timer, or other external event - like a modem signal on the serial port, or a signal over the network interface.
