Is the command, LSHIFT synonymous with tab left. If not what does it do?

NO.

LSHIFT is used with PRESS, pressing and releasing the SHIFT key on the left side of the keyboard.

What is "left tab? Do you mean Shift-Tab?
PRESS>SHIFT / Press>TAB / Release>SHIFT will do a SHIFT-TAB function backwards to the previous tab stop.
There is no PRESS Left/or right tab

There are usually two SHIFT keys, one on the right side, one on the left side.
There is usually only one TAB key, so no need to make a left/right version.
Also, Release is only needed on SHIFT/SLT/CTRL/WinKey families of keys
Hope this was helpful..................good luck,
Bob
