The support phones - not for real?

Since I have bought a product I am not allowed to download, I tried all day to phone the support phones - both UK and US, but both of them are hooked up to answering machines.

This is certainly not my idea of fun, using a whole day trying to reach so called support.

Have you experienced the same?

Hi,

I am sorry that you have been unable to get through to us. The first thing to say is that it has been the Easter holidays here in the UK and as a result we have been somewhat understaffed these last few days and I apologise if your phone call was not answered. However, I have checked our voice mails and there are no outstanding messages. Had you left a message we would have called back straight away.
