We should be able to do it for you, but would need some kind of proof that the script is yours. If you send the EXE to support and provide some info that would demonstrate you wrote the code (does it have comments? If not can you quote some of it) we will see what we can do.

I don't have this problem today but its good to know decompiling can be done. Would a line in the script such as:

//Script written by: Name Here

be adequate as proof of ownership?

Probably, yes. The point is we cannot just decompile any EXE anyone sends us. And I want to make it perfectly clear that we will NEVER decompile anyone's code unless we can be absolutely sure that code belongs to the person requesting it. In fact we will only ever do it in exceptional circumstances. There has to be a very good reason for us to be doing this.

Maybe something less easier to guess than the author's name would be better?

Maybe... But if my name is embedded within the uncompiled script and I'm the person asking for the decompile (and of course if the request meets any other criteria deemed necessary by MJT) I would think that the embedded name would be fairly good evidence of ownership or rather authorship.

Trust me - we have been VERY particular when doing this in the past and let me repeat - this is not a service we wish to carry out on a regular basis and certainly do not advertise it. In fact I'd rather we didn't waste any more time discussing it. I must have the original author's express permission to do this and will be very careful to whom I give code to. I will only supply decompiled source code if I can be absolutely sure it is going to the rightful owner. Enough said.
