F5 not refreshing IE everytime

Post by Tim » Mon May 14, 2012 7:34 pm

I've searched the forums and found the basic mechanism to refresh IE:

setfocus>Internet Explorer*
Press F5

However, this doesn't always seem to work. In fact, even going into IE and pressing F5 manually doesn't always seem to work. I'm running IE8. Any ideas?

Thanks,

Tim

I don't have a solution but if pressing the F5 key manually won't refresh IE, you can expect the same failure using Macro Scheduler and "Press F5". I think you need to figure out why you're not getting a refresh (or why you think you're not getting a refresh) when you manually press the F5 key. F5 should cause a refresh in IE.

I use F5 all the time instead of using the refresh button. Found a work around on this yet?

I have IE8. I just pressed F5 multiple times. It worked every time. Have you considered re-installing IE8? I couldn't get F5 to fail, like you said, so it must be something affecting yours.

Also, do you have multiple IE's open? Maybe if you tried first getting the window handle, then SetFocus using the handle. (If you have multiple windows open SetFocus will find the closes match when using an *.)

PepsiHog. Yep! I drink LOTS of Pepsi (still..in 2024) AND enjoy programming. (That's my little piece of heaven!)

The immensity of the scope of possibilities within Macro Scheduler pushes the user beyond just macros!
