I found a script in the tips and scripts section that defrags a Windows 2000 computer. It works just fine for me - I am a local admin on my machine.
I was thinking about setting up a compiled exe version of this defrag routine that would run say at 2:00 am on Sunday morning (hopefully no one is working at that hour!).
My question, is there any way to tell this one exe file to run at that time with the elevated privileges of a local administrator - maybe a vbscript would help and have it wrapped by MS. Our users are for the most part do not have local admin rights - we have tried to lock down their computers. Defrag will not run in this case.
Is there anything in Macro Scheduler that could help us here?
Thanks again
Running Defrag for non admin accounts - how to?
