Execute shortcut

Post by Snickers » Fri Nov 09, 2007 1:27 pm

I am writing a program that will start my son's different video games, log the time and auto quit each game when his time limit is reached.

Some of the games require the game to be started with a shortcut because the shortcut is formatted. For example, he plays Battlefield 2142 in widescreen; the only way to play in a semi widescreen is to format the shortcut as follows:
"C:\Program Files\Electronic Arts\Battlefield 2142\BF2142.exe" +widescreen 1 +szx 1440 +szy 900

How can I use MacroScheduler to executefile>the bf2142 shortcut?

You should just be able to do:

Run>"C:\Program Files\Electronic Arts\Battlefield 2142\BF2142.exe" +widescreen 1 +szx 1440 +szy 900

But you can also execute the shortcut directly:

ExecuteFile>C:\....\shortcut.lnk

The shortcut is a .lnk file. If it is on the desktop then the path is probably something like:

c:\documents and settings\USERNAME\desktop\shortcut.lnk
