Can't remove tick from Scheduler Service option

Hello again,

I seem to have an issue with the Scheduler Service option.

By default, a new macro has the option for "Allow Scheduler Service to Run this Macro" ticked by default.

There are lots I don't want the Scheduler Service to run so I have unticked this box. This is indicated in the main window with the icon showing a red diagonal stripe across the clock icon.

Each new macro I create now will not allow this option to be unticked although I have some created at an earlier date which have the box unticked.

I'm wondering if this is connected with my other issue:

What do you mean when you say it won't allow the option to be unticked? Can you uncheck it at all, or is the check returning? Which version of Macro Scheduler do you have (Check under Help/About)?

Check that you only have one instance of Macro Scheduler running. How many Macro Scheduler cog wheel icons in the system tray? Run Task Manager - how many instances of msched.exe?

Under Tools/Options is "Keep Scheduling on Exit" checked or unchecked?

Only one.

Unticked. I only have one macro set to allow Task Scheduler to run it. This logs me into the PC each morning. Once in, the rest of the macros are scheduled to run at a start time and then at set intervals e.g. 120 minutes.

Which icon state are you talking about? This box doesn't effect the state of any icon. Are you confusing this with disabling/enabling the schedule by right clicking on the macro and selecting "Schedule Enabled"?

Not sure what has got stuck here. Best thing would be to email support with your macros.dat file for us to check over. We could then also arrange a time for a remote desktop visitation and get this sorted quickly for you.

Hi Marcus,

With Macro Scheduler open, the macro names and some details are listed on screen. These have icons to the left of the name.

Where I have previously successfully removed the tick from the "Allow Scheduler Service to Run this Macro" box, the icon changes in the list to indicate this - it shows as a clock with a red diagonal stripe.

The PC MS is installed on sits behind a firewall and I doubt a desktop visit could be arranged due to security restrictions but thank you for the offer.

I think I'll try a re-install. It's very strange that everything worked fine before and this issue has only appeared after the Access Violation problem I've been getting.

The icon will only show a red diagonal stripe if you have DISABLED scheduling for that macro by Right Clicking on the macro and unchecking "Enable Schedule". The red diagonal stripe has nothing to do with the "Allow Scheduler service ...." option.

There should be no need to reinstall. Please call support and we'll connect up and should be able to fix it in a few minutes.
