script to log into web-based account with ID/password

Post by jwobrien2 » Fri Nov 09, 2012 5:15 pm

Is it possible to write a script which DOES NOT use mouse curser, but:
A) Start Internet Explorer & wait for it to be running?
B) Goe to a specified URL, & wait for its web page to open?
C) Enter a specified 'user-ID' (without knowing where on open web page its dialog box is)
D) Enter a specified 'password' (without knowing where on open web page its dialog box is?

Operating system is Windows 7 Professional

Thanks for any info you can supply

Yes, it's possible. Marcus posted an example here http://www.mjtnet.com/forum/automate-we ... t1461.html

I hope this helps.

And one of the sample scripts that comes with the software shows how to do this.

There's also our WebRecorder plug in to simplify coding of such a process.

I also posted an example of how to sue the native IE functions on the blog recently. It was also in the most recent newsletter:

Did you know we are now offering affordable monthly subscriptions for Macro Scheduler Standard?
