Finding a clickable link

Post by TimTom » Mon Feb 07, 2011 1:45 pm

Hi,

I use Macro Scheduler to download stock data from a financial website. To save a particular stock's data, I must click on a "download" link. The easiest way to highlight and click on this link is to tab through the website until the correct link is highlighted, then press enter.

The problem is that there can be minor changes to the page, both in the number of times the tab key will have to be pressed and, also, in the exact location of the link. My script works about 95% of the time but when it doesn't I waste a lot of time correcting the downloads.

What I need is a command to the effect, "FindLink, download" which will highlight the link so that pressing "enter" will initiate the download. Of course there is no such command (that I can find), but is there some other way to do the same thing?

Thanks,

Tim

WebRecorder's ClickTag function will click a link based on it's text, or other identifying features.
