What that means -> PRESS SHIFT * 17

Post by lebrocoli » Tue Oct 09, 2007 7:05 pm

Hi,

I am recording a script that I tweak after.

Now, once recorded, I am looking at the script to understand it and I see various things like 'PRESS SHIFT * 17'.

What do they mean? I am kind of confuse since I did not push the SHIFT key once.

Thanks.

It means press shift 17 times.

Would be unusual to press SHIFT more than once before pressing another key.

If this was from Recorded Macro, then I suspect you kept your SHIFT key held down a while until you pressed the following key.
Hope this was helpful..................good luck,

If is was recorded, then he hit it, regardless of what he believes.

Think about the *17, it was pressed, held down, and then changed mind. He may not have hit a SH followed by a key, but he did hold down the SHIFT key.

Ok. You are right. I pressed it once.

What is the rate at which the Recorder records a key ?

As a test, I hold the shift key for 5 seconds and I got * 113.

Let me know.
Thanks.

I think that will depend on the key repeat rate set in the OS, Control Panel, Keyboard.
