CREATING A MACRO THAT WOULD SEARCH THE TEXT IN A WEBPAGE

Post by jbowman2 » Mon Jun 19, 2006 6:57 am

Hey everyone,

Just wanted to start out by saying that you've got a great forum here. I'm new, and look forward to asking a few questions, and offering help when I can.

Would anyone know if it is possible to write a macro that would search a webpage that is open in internet explorer, and highlight a specific word on the page?

I'd like to be able to open a page in Internet Explorer, and then hit a hotkey, like f4, and have the word "version" automatically be highlighted. Either that, or just have the mouse moved to that position in the page.

I've tried creating a script that will would do a ctrl+f, type in version, hit enter, etc, but that requires too many steps, and my computer can't keep up with it.

If anyone would be able to offer some advice, that'd be great.

Thanks!

Your approach sounds close to desired.

Why don't you submit your script here so that we can help you correct it.
Hope this was helpful..................good luck,
Bob
