AppendFile but in this case Microsoft Word files

Post by zeke » Fri Mar 02, 2007 1:49 am

Is it possible to append 2 or more binary files e.g. Microsoft Word files. The AppendFile command syntax talks about sourcefile1 sourcefile2 and they use *.txt files as examples - are you limited to text files only?

Thanks for any input on this.

Can you append two .doc files physically into one file? Yes you can, but because of the way the individual files are structured the result is not a functional Word file.

If what you really want to do is combine two Word documents into one Word document then you could maybe look at automating the Import File functionality in Word.
