OCR recommendations?

Post by jbas » Tue Apr 21, 2015 2:03 am

I have used Macro Schedule for years and have not needed OCR functionality until now.

Searching this forum I found a few products mentioned but most of the entries were not current.
Searching the internet shows there are a large number of products available.

If you have used an OCR product with Macro Scheduler and are willing to recommend it I would appreciate hearing from you.

I am looking for a Windows based tool. I think I am looking for a SDK that I could distribute with my macros - I can't assume that other products with OCR capability will be available. I'm willing to pay for good software (so I'm not looking for only software that is free) but anything more than a couple hundred dollars is probably beyond my current interest level.

Thanks!

I don't have any personal recommendations as I haven't had to do OCR for a long time. I think the best advice is to find an OCR tool which works well for your particular case. What matters is the accuracy for your scenario. Look at ones that have an SDK or command line ability and use the one that works best from within Macro Scheduler.

Did you know we are now offering affordable monthly subscriptions for Macro Scheduler Standard?

Have you tried: Textract?

I'm looking into it myself, but I wish this feature was either part of MS or an add-on purchasable from MS. (I think why it's not in in MS or provided by MS) is that most people need to read web pages, apps, software, etc. Not images. So those of us that need images have to resort (figure out) to some other method.)

And to not hijack this thread, I have mad my own post with my situation here: viewtopic.php?f=2&t=8764
