formfill not recorder properly / not working

hi all,

i have this form (with javascript) where i want to fill a field of the form. when recording, i get the following line in the script:

IE_FormFill>%IE[2]%,{""},{"ACTION:/internetmarke/franking.do"},{"letter(ID1341584016853).letterStandardProducts"},{"GroÃŸbrief (1,45 â‚¬)"},0,ie_res

where the ID number is different every time i record the same thing and of course if i play it back, it doesn't work - the field simply isn't changed.

tried to edit the IE_FormFill parameters in a few different ways, but so far, no luck. would someone know what are the correct parameters to fill in there so that it will work? many thanks in advance!

If the attribute value is different each session then the field won't be found next run.

So you need to use a different attribute to identify it by.

However, I see that there is a number in the name of the field. That number may be specific to the session. Does that number appear elsewhere in the source of the HTML - or in the source of another page? If so extract it using ExtractTag/RegEx and then you can apply it into the attribute in your FormFills.

If not and if there is no other unique attribute then you could use INDEX and the numeric instance number.

And If none of that helps and nothing is consistent then things get much harder. You might be able to parse the page HTML looking for a pattern - say a label near the element - using e.g. RegEx as well as loop through all matching tags (you might use IEGetTags) to determine which one is the one you want.
