Extra Space Tool request

Post by Bob Hansen » Tue Mar 18, 2003 4:21 am

Using 7.2.026

I guess this is a paradigm shift vs. a bug? :?:

I did a cut and paste of the Help code for Dialog and it would not run. When single stepping, it failed on the first line. I checked the sample macro provided and it appeared to be the same. Then I got real smart and turned on Show All Characters, and found that the cut/paste from the Help sample has extra space at end of every line. :!:

I see in the release notes that this problem was addressed in 7.2 for doing cut/paste from web forums.
 Can this be broadened to be used anywhere?
 How about an Edit Tool to remove all trailing spaces? :?:
Hope this was helpful..................good luck,
Bob

Hi,

I think it would be dangerous to always remove trailing spaces as there are ocassions when they a required. Therefore the addition to 7.2 only removes them if the source was HTML.

I like the idea of an option under the Edit menu as this means you can do it when you need to do it but it does not default.
