Macro Scheduler on servers, diskless workstations, Citrix.

Hi,

I have been away from testing and automation for a while, but now my job brings me back to it. We have moved to an environment where all of our users are on diskless workstations running under Windows 7. The actual client applications are published on Citrix. Previously we had our Macro Schedule development environment installed on physical desktops, but now we want to move them so they can be accessed via our Citrix network.

I do not belive we want to publish Macro Scheduler under Citrix, that would probably run afoul with our licensing agreement. Instead I would like to install it on a Windows 2008 64bit server and have our Macro Scheduler developers access it via RDP, restricting it so the number of remote desktops matches the number of Macro Scheduler licenses. Our developers will create compiled scripts that may be run as published Citrix apps, or from a network fileshare accessed by Windows Explorer running under Citrix. I have tested the compiled scripts out, they work from our diskless workstations.

Keep in mind Macro Scheduler, the scp scripts, and the compiled scripts, and the applications to be automated will be running under Windows 2005 and 2008 server OS (mostly 64bit) and not under the diskless desktop Windows 7 OS.

Does this look like a doable arrangement?
